Before we start… What is it?

There are about as many “explanations” for what Black Friday is as people you ask, but the one we like most is found in the Factory Management and Maintenance Journal in 1951 and again in 1952. In the journal it referred to the practice of workers calling in sick on the day after Thanksgiving, in order to have a four-day week-end.

More recently it has been used to refer to the practice of retail shops in the USA opening their stores as early as possible on the day after Thanksgiving – sometimes as early as midnight on Thanksgiving itself, to start the Christmas season shopping

We Just Love a Sale

So, for no good reason, we are having one with absolutely everything on the online store on sale (except for our Gift Certificates… no sale there)

In the style of a covid restriction announcement, the sale runs from 12.01am on Friday 25 November until 11.59pm on Friday 25 November.

Heads Up on Shipping

Far from requiring the team to come in and ship orders received on their weekend; any Friday sales will ship on Tuesday 29 November. Why not Monday? Because Sunday is our team Christmas party, so everyone has the day off on Monday!
